thousands of Twitter accounts, redirecting users to third-party websites without their consent.
The bug is particularly nasty because it works on mouseover only, meaning pop-ups and third-party websites can open even if you just move your mouse over the offending link.
For now, the best course of action is using third-party apps such as TweetDeck to access Twitter, as the bug only seems to affect Twitter’s web interface.
A NEW BIRD A NEW EXPERIENCE!!
Twitter is the best way to discover what’s new in your world. From football to film to philanthropy, people are using Twitter to discover what’s new about what they find interesting.
Twitter has always been about getting a lot in a little. The constraint of 140 characters drives conciseness and lets you quickly discover and share what’s happening. Yet, we’ve learned something since starting Twitter—life doesn’t always fit into 140 characters or less.
Introducing a new, re-engineered Twitter.com that provides an easier, faster, and richer experience.
On the site, you’ll see the familiar timeline, yet underneath each Tweet is a handful of information, deeper context and even embedded media. Simply click on an individual Tweet and a details pane slides out on the right and reveals this content.

Social Networking Dominates Our Time Spent Online [STATS]
Social networking now eats up twice as much of our online time as any other activity. According to new stats from Nielsen, sites like Facebook and Twitter now account for 22.7% of time spent on the web; the next closest activity is online games, which make up 10.2%.
The stats also show the degree to which social networking is displacing other forms of communication, with e-mail as a percentage of online time plunging from 11.5% to 8.3% from June 2009 to June 2010. Instant messaging also saw a significant drop in share, with a 15% decline from last year.
However, e-mail use on mobile is still on the rise – from 37.4% to 41.6% — presumably as users continue to migrate to smartphones from feature phones.

Listen up, y’all: I’ve got another delightful time-wasting Tumblr for you: Museum of Modern Tweets. Every Tuesday on this inspired blog, artist Odessa Begay renders a visual representation of a celeb’s 140-word message. Celebrity depictions include Ryan Seacrest, Nick Jonas, John Mayer and Lance Armstrong, and offer trippy interpretations of what the celeb has tweeted. (via Mashable)AWESOME: Museum of Modern Tweets
Although social networking could be seen as merely an outlet for mindlessly blathering into the abyss, a lot of folks are finding creative ways to appropriate the medium. Begay’s site, which appears to have been up for about a month now, is just the latest in this artistic stream of technological consciousness.
The 7 Secrets of Social Media Conversion
Social media should be good for business, but there are two lingering problems. Firstly, the stubborn gaggle of non-adopters that doth protest too much – “it should be for personal use, not business”. Secondly, most people that are using social media for inbound marketing are doing a poor job of converting the traffic once it arrives. If you’re using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. to drive traffic to your business – but the results are less than inspiring – you’re probably making fundamental mistakes during the conversion phase of the social media conversion funnel
